Railroad Area Planning in Vitoria
1994/2001

This project takes on the zoning and planning of Industrial Estate Nº 5, on land no longer used by RENFE. It was promoted by the City of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
In this operation, the idea was to act in an individual way in a much deteriorated area of the city. The area is near the city centre and thus gives a poor image of Vitoria to visitors arriving by train.
The project also facilitates the connection to the south of the city and completes the pedestrian ring that is interrupted on the last part of Calle Dato.

The Urban Planning project for the area, which is to be completely pedestrianized, contemplates two crossing levels, one elevated with views of the train, and another on the same level as the commercial spaces located along a long wooden pavement, accompanied by magnolias and street furniture. A bar and restaurant with concrete, wood, and glass façades has been planned over the tunnel.
