404 Housing Units in Salburúa

The housing units are distributed over 5 different blocks in the urban structure of the new neighbourhood of Salburua. The neighbourbood located near wetlands converted into a park is designed with a rigourous design that determines the final image of the buildings.
To alleviate the rigidity in planning, blocks are designed with large open spaces on the inside and corridors that link different stairways, allowing interaction among residents.
In each block, different typologies of housing coexist, including some duplexes on the side bodies.
The traditional construction intends to be economical and of low maintenance.
Bioclimatic resources include solar panels on the roof, pneumatic rubbish disposal, and a basement level that does not affect the water table.
The garden area is designed to be an extension of the nearby wetlands and bears in mind the shadows cast by the buildings throughout the day.
