Services Building in Miribilla
Bilbao. 2005

This proposal includes the possibility to separate the image of the building, form, from function.
Modulation / Flexibility / Economy
The set of buildings is designed under maximally simple and efficient criteria, by means of two semi-underground floors and a sequence of pavilions adapted to ordered modulation based on vehicle dimensions.
Strict modulation allows the development of a system of formally simple independent pavilions where the final touch will be defined by economic availability.
Formal image
A large roof, folded and perforated, takes in the pavilions, giving the final image, the icon that will define the Citizen Safety and Civil Protection building in Bilbao.
Its placement, independent from the buildings it houses, allows them to freely develop inside, with no formal links to hold it down.
The common area between the buildings is semi-covered by this protective veil; it turns this area into a large public foyer.
