1994/1996
This building is adapted to the rhombus shape of the lot. It has three storeys plus a basement.
Programme: Health Centre, Senior Citizens' Centre, Leisure Centre, Conference Hall and Gymnasium.
The project involves opposite concepts such as open/closed, light/heavy.
Its multiple uses look to the interior. The two glass fissures act as virtual façades which allow for cross-views of all activities. The building is open and full of light on the inside though closed to the outside, as it has very few windows.
In the same way, the heavy language of the outside (visible reinforced concrete and levelled stone siding) stands against the lightness and transparency of the glass façades of the two inner corridors.
Through this, we look to show the possibility of using superimposed formulas to solve problems derived from a multiple number of uses, this without giving up apparent unity and clarity in construction.
