Plaza Pub
Vitoria-Gasteiz 1999/2000

The activities of the bar are distributed on two floors, while the basement is used as a service area. The ground floor has two areas, one with a bar and another with clearly separated tables. The first floor extends as a sitting room, taking advantage of the magnificent view it has over the pedestrian street.
The intervention combines two different buildings. This brought about added structural difficulty.
The ceilings and white walls, the continuous high-resistance wood floors, and the stainless steel in the more visible areas complete the reduced palette of finishings.
A large glass window, for control of sunlight, placed like a screen on the south façade, provides the image of a café. The bar is thermally regulated by means of a double glass skin.
The former shop front was preserved to be used for temporary art exhibitions.
